Dustin is also an avid hunter. He is pictured here with a beautiful Southern Oregon Blacktail

I've always had an interest in art, particularly pencil drawings, and found taxidermy to be a great way to combine my love for hunting and wildlife with my artistic ability.

I have been in the taxidermy industry for over 11 years. Originally training and working with some of the best taxidermists Oregon has to offer, before branching out, and starting my own business four years ago.

Over the years I have competed in numerous state and national taxidermy competitions and been fortunate to bring home many first place ribbons along the way. I have also been honored to receive "People's Choice", "Taxidermist Choice", and "Judges Choice" awards, as well as the "Breakthrough Wasco Award", at both the California and Oregon competitions.

Although I enjoy competing, I don't believe in a "competition mount".  Every mount that comes out of my shop is "competition" quality, done with the same pride, craftsmanship and creativity, as the piece's I enter into taxidermy competitions.

I have a slogan on my business card that says,  " Competition quality in every mount."  There is a lot of truth in that.  Many taxidermists choose to do two different styles of mounts.  One would be the way they do it for their customers and the other would be the way they mount a head for a competition.  My take on that is why not do them all as if your doing them for a competition?  It gives you a chance to really hone your skills as taxidermist if you're constantly practicing or training yourself to do things at that competitive level.  When shows come around,  you're already way ahead of the game because your basically doing a mount the way you do it every day.  Where as somebody else has to stop,  switch gears and try the new things they're not used to doing because now it's a competition mount.  It's worked well for me so far,  and have no desire to do it any other way. All mounts are guaranteed to receive 100% of my effort and artistic ability, something that is unfortunately lost in many of today's high production taxidermy studios.

Because of the extra effort and detail I put into my mounts I operate on about a twelve month turn around time.  Be assured that your mount,  when received,  will have been worth the wait.  We also offer sixty or ninety day turn arounds for an additional charge.  Call us for the details.

Materials are also very important in producing a realistic mount. Most of the taxidermy "forms" that I use are "standard" forms from well known taxidermy supply companies, but no animal is mounted on them without alterations to custom fit and enhance the features of that particular species. Giving a unique look and incredible life-like appearance to each mount
